Bangalore boy missing in Manchester since New Year eve – can anyone help?

safe_imageBangalore boy Souvik Pal, 19, from a middle class benagali family and an Indian national studying at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), UK, was reported missing from 31st of December 2012. He was last seen in a new year eve party in The Warehouse Project, Manchester.  Souvik, a product design student at Manchester Metropolitan University was doing extremely well in his studies and recognized / awarded by the University. He went to Manchester from Calcutta last summer to start his undergraduate degree. Souvik, a huge music fan who hopes to become a singer and DJ, was due to celebrate his 19th birthday on last Thursday (3rd Jan’13). He lived in Cavendish halls of residence on Cambridge Street, Manchester.

As per the latest report from the Manchester Police dept. they spoke to the member of staff from The Warehouse Project who ejected a male matching Souvik’s description. The CCTV has been viewed and the time of the ejection is 22.58 hours on 31.12.12. The Manchester police also reported to Souvik’s father that, there is an external camera which shows the male they believed to be Souvik leave but it doesn’t show which direction he travelled in. Police divers have been searching the Bridgewater Canal near the club but the teenager remains missing.

Concern is growing for this Indian student in UK as well as in his family in India. His desperate father Santanu Pal has reached Manchester at 10 PM yesterday night to search Souvik and is stranded in an alien land.

A meeting with Manchester Police is also scheduled this morning. Mr.RR Swain from Indian high commission’s office, Birmingham, planning to meet Souvik’s father today. Mr. Pal is meeting the Director, MMU International in the afternoon today and with boys and girls of Cavendish hall after 4:30PM (UK time).

Please raise your voices so that the young boy can be traced. Please stand by the side of the devastated family of Souvik in this hour of need.
