Our home-town – Bassano del Grappa, in the North East of Italy – has hosted the second edition of “RESISTERE”- a much celebrated cultural and literary event, curated by the historical “Palazzo Roberti” – a concept bookstore, said to be one of the best ones in the whole of Italy. The name chosen for this initiative is a recurring theme for everyone today – how do we cope!? nowadays…
It is, indeed, their opening message “… the most beautiful thing about books is the encounters they delight the readers with, both along and outside the printed pages. Think of all the numerous pen-mates who have managed to console, amuse, enthuse and make us crave their stories!.. “ that suggests why we from Montegrappa, the first Italian manufacturer of superior writing instruments, have joined their project with resolve.
Indeed, writing as tracing thoughts in an indelible way, is our way of preservation.
Known as enthusiastic supporters of scientific research, of the symbiosis (and non) between art and technology, and certainly zealous lovers of all the literary forms existing, we from Montegrappa have had the pleasure of gifting our fine writing instruments this year to a truly impressive shortlist of great Italian writers and journalists, such as Marco Damilano, Vittorio Sgarbi, Alan Friedman, Ferruccio De Bortoli, Antonio Caprarica, Luciana Littizzetto, Alessandra Sardoni, Francesco Daveri, Andrea Frediani and others. These are just some of the many topics we discussed and pondered over – the treasures of Italy, mocking reality, remember the future, the journalist’s life – zen sailing through storms, deeds and misdeeds of our history.
What better tribute to the “RESISTERE” initiative than our classic pen collections such as ITALIA, Tricolore and Fortuna. Patriotic, fiery and auspicious.
