30th July is the World Day against Trafficking in Persons. To mark this important day, German Consulate General Kolkata is organising an event to raise awareness and to sensitize the people about this grave issue.
On this 30th July 2017, a one hour event from 03pm -04pm will be held in the lobby of the Quest Mall, Kolkata. The event will be conducted in association with the local NGO’s (Jabala Action Research Organisation, Missing, Aapne Aap, New Light) who are active in this field. To reach out to a wider audience the plan is conduct a dance flash mob with 20 children. Furthermore, NGO children will walk through all the floors of the mall and will personally try to reach out to people with the help of handheld placards.
To encourage the youth to participate and contribute to this cause, a photo booth will be set up at the lobby where interested people especially teenagers and children can click pictures and can win prizes. In addition to that a flip chart will be put up next to the photo booth where people can share their thoughts and win exciting giveaways.
Let’s raise awareness against human trafficking that is also happening in our society!
