2014 worldsteel map of China steel mills available now

Brussels, 22 August 2014 – The World Steel Association (worldsteel) has published the 2014 edition of its map of Chinese mainland steel plants. It is available for purchase as a large format wall poster or a PDF file on worldsteel.org.The map highlights the essence of the Chinese steel industry, showing the geographical and economic landscape of the country’s steel industry at a glance.

It includes information such as:

Crude steel production by company and by province
Steel product type by company
Crude steel production and apparent crude steel use since 2001
Apparent crude steel use per capita since 2001
Structure of iron ore supply
Iron ore production by province
Coke production by province

Notes:

• The World Steel Association (worldsteel) is one of the largest and most dynamic industry associations in the world. worldsteel represents approximately 170 steel producers (including 9 of the world’s 10 largest steel companies), national and regional steel industry associations and steel research institutes. worldsteel members represent around 85% of world steel production.
