Over 1100 Optum employees run for a cause at the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon

  • More than 1100 employees from Optum run for a cause at the most awaited marathon event in the country

New Delhi, November 19th, 2017: Continuing its commitment towards employee health and well-being, Optum, the health services business of UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH), successfully participated in the most anticipated running event of the year – Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. Highlighting their promise for a healthier mind and body, over 1100 employees from Optum ran for a cause. Improving on past records, over 900 men and 250 women participated in all three categories.

Optum has consistently featured among companies that have had the highest participation in marathons. The Optum award winning employee wellness program – LiveWell, is geared towards promoting a healthy lifestyle and lays special emphasis on marathon running, widely promoting it amongst employees for holistic wellness and increased discipline in professional and personal life.

Commenting on the overwhelming participation and enthusiasm of runners, Mr. Arun Rustagi, Director IT, InfoSec and Infrastructure Delivery, Optum said, “It is encouraging to see Optum employees turn out in such large numbers to participate in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. Optum also recently lifted the Corporate Trophy for the 4th consecutive year at the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon, where more than 1100 employees had taken part.
