New Delhi April 22, 2017: Two days symposium titled ‘Beyond the Present’ concluded today with powerful debates. The two days event organized by Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication (SACAC) Adhichini New Delhi started on April 22. Ms. Daljeet Wadhwa, Director Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts & Communication welcomed all the speakers and the audience.

The two days event aims to bring together eminent filmmakers, authors, journalists, photographers, musicians, documentary makers and educationists to decode the influential nature of certain changes (societal, technological, political, cultural and environmental) in our society, that can potentially affect arts and media and to understand whether the present has the potential to shape the media of the future.
Upmanyu Chatterjee- Author, Sadanand Menon- Photojournalist & Art Critic and Dr. AF Mathew – Academician & Sociologist, Ruhani Kaur – Documentary Photographer and Chandan Gomes – Documentary Photographer were the key speakers on the first day of the event, while Abhishek Mathur–Musician & Founding Member of Advaita, Anant Donn Bhat – Music Producer & Song writer and Sajid Akbar – Sound Artiest were the key speakers on the second day of the event.
While addressing the gathering, Ms. Daljeet Wadhwa says, “SACAC was created with the vision of creating responsible media arts professionals. We feel proud to say that our alumni are keeping their values in tact’s while practicing their respective arts.”
April 22, 2017 First Day: Upmanyu Chatterjee, Sadanand Menon and Dr. AF Mathew shared their views on how pop culture impacts communication and media arts. Besides this in a powerful session, “In a world dominated by screens, where does the art of making photograph stand?” the panelists Sadanand Menon, Ruhani Kaur and Chandan Gomes interacted with the audience.

April 23, 2017 Second Day: Panelists Abhishek Mathur–Musician, Founding Member of Advaita, Anant Donn Bhat – Music Producer, Song writer & Sajid Akbar – Sound Artiest shared their views on music production. Interrogating notions of Reality and Truth- the Ethics and Politics of Representation in Creative Practice was also the key session of day two of the event where Amar Tanwar and Priya Sen interacted with the audience.
