ADTRAN Expands its International R&D Capabilities

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.–(February, 2013) — ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN), a leading provider of next-generation networking solutions, today announced the expansion of its research and development capabilities with the opening of its high tech engineering facility in Hyderabad, the capital and largest city of the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Inaugurated by the Honorable Minister for Information Technology and Communications, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Sri Ponnala Lakshmaiah Garu, the center has been created to increase ADTRAN’s international reach.

ADTRAN, alongside its regional partners, has been engaged in R&D activities in Hyderabad for over six years. Having achieved this high level of engagement, ADTRAN decided to open a new center to focus its activities and build on the strong platform it had developed. This new center will initially employ approximately 30 engineers focusing on Telecom Hardware and Software design, development, qualification and maintenance.
