Mumbai, 13th October, 2015 On the 50th anniversary of 1965 Indo – Pak war, the members of Lt. Dilip Gupte Marg Parisar Mandal paid tribute to the young and enthusiastic 23 year old Lt. Dilip Gupte, lost his life fighting for the nation in ‘Operation –demolish Jura Bridge’. Dignitaries gathered to pay homage to Lt. Dilip Gupte, at the rememberance function organized at Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research (WeSchool), Matunga by the Martyrs family.

The Chief Guest was, Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Shri. Manohar Parrikar and the Guest of Honor was Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, Welingkar Institute of Management (WeSchool)

Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Shri. Manohar Parrikar paid tribute to the late Lt. Dilip Gupte on his 50th death anniversary in Mumbai. Renowned actor-director Ajit Bhure presented a book on ‘Operation Jura Bridge’, an inspiring story of one such unsung hero from the 1965 Indo-Pak war, Lt. Dilip Gupte, who sacrificed his life at a very young age of 23. The hon’ble minister lauded the supreme devotion that the soldiers have for the nation and admired that an entire vicinity in a city like Mumbai had nurtured the memory and spirit of Lt Dileep Gupte for 50 years.

Mr. Guruprasad Rege and Mr. Girish Rege, both Principal of Bal Mohan Vidya Mandir where Lt Gupte studied and  Mr. Ganesh Shanbhag, leading financial consultant and relatives and friends of Lt. Dilip Gupte.

Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool on the occasion said,

At the same time, I also urge our policy makers in the government to make use of this vast pool of talent to further develop and enhance this country and lay the foundations for a strong youth oriented generation.”
