Have you ever thought about the events in your life that made you angry, sad or happy? Were you put in that situation by your friends, family, colleagues, strangers, or even what we call ‘God’? I think none.
Your state was just a consequential cross section of a cumulative result of your entire decision making in the past. That includes your current state of mind to perceive things as well.
You are the reason, you are the cause
How you have spent or invested your time in past made you in a position and mental state in which you are today; and there is nothing wrong about it. You could have gained some knowledge about yourself, people, world which can be your biggest asset. Still you need to implement your learnings as no knowledge is useful without any implementation. So you must go on to apply what you have learnt about yourself.
Radically change the way you think
You have learnt, you have made mistakes, you have regrets, you have achievements. Whatever has happened in past cannot be changed, but a radical thinking can put all that learning into right actions for the future. You have everything, you have nothing, it is all a state of mind. In what ideas, actions, thoughts you want to spend your time decides what you are, so choose it tightly.
Universe is friendly
There is a recent video in which an author projects a situation to consider that ‘Universe is Friendly’ for you, which means everything that happens to you can make you stronger for your bigger goal in life. Just you will have to perceive it that way.
Are you mentally present?
Your body is always in Present but your mind can be somewhere else. Most of us have spent majority of our time thinking about past or future. We were mostly separated from our mind, though it is supposed to be a part of us.
As you know, your future will be a result of what you do today, so why not utilize present time of your mind with at most productivity & just stop thinking about the past or future all the time. Does it make sense? This is the best thing you can practice for yourself.
Practice Mindfulness
You will have to be in a mindful, self-aware state to do so. This can also be a hard thing to do due to inertia of your present thought process which is a result of your all your practices in past. But it can change with right practice.
Every one of us knows “Practice makes a man perfect”, it is this Practice of Mindfulness that can make you perfect as an individual. Nothing can be done without right practice; knowing yourself better, Focusing & Mediation are a great way to start.
A good change is where you agree Practice is the solution to take control of your mind. It will not happen in a day, in a month but given the quantum of time you have already spent in your life, it can happen in much lesser amount.
You are your best friend
Once you are on a right track you will understand that your mind is the most powerful thing ever conceived in this universe. It can take you to so many places, make you rich, make you smart & successful, make you feel happier & make you help others. As you understand your mind, the way it thinks your mind will understand you too, it’s a beautiful harmony. You can never have a better friend.
