Hou to lead Swiss and UK campuses of top-ranked hospitality management institutions of higher education

New Delhi, March 18th, 2014 — Glion Institute of Higher Education,one of the world’s top three institutions of higher education for an international career in hospitality management, has appointed Judy Hou as Directeur General/CEO to manage Glion-branded institutions in Switzerland and the United Kingdom, effective January 2014.  Prior to Glion, Hou was CEO of Les Roches Jin Jiang Hotel Management College in Shanghai, China.

Judy formerly served as the director of human capital for Hotel ICONin Hong Kong.  She also was an adjunct professor for the School of Hotel & Tourism Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. During her tenure, Hou successfully developed the first fully integrated commercial and teaching/research hotel owned by the university.Hou has held various key management positions in luxury hotel companies, including learning and development manager for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and served training manager for Park Hyatt Washington in Washington, D.C.

 

Houis on the editorial board of Hotel Business ReviewJournal and has authored several articles in Hotel Executive and Hotel Management Asia, including “The Future of Hotel Marketing: Social Media,” “Understanding & Profiting from Emotional Factors Behind Hotel Brand Loyalty,” “Managing Gen Y: The Characteristic of Gen Y in the Hospitality Industry,” and “The Role of the General Manager in the 21st Century.”

Houearned her Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from Columbia University and her master’s in Hospitality Administration from EcoleHôtelière de Lausanne. She is working towards her Doctor of Business Administration from Walden University.
