Epicurean lifestyle, anyone?

debrajOn account of the series of  catastrophic events both natural and man-made that has been hitting planet three this year, the substantial conflict graph is soaring high as of late. Well, such lines are quite regular and customary, right? A panorama of the daily newspaper, eavesdropping certain Environment Conservation lectures or programs or a puckish legwork of your child’s school project tells you no different story.
It’s really an eye-opener how people have become so immutable and how their reactions are so impotent over the litany of agitations eating up thousands of  innocent lives of variety of species inclusive of their own.In Nepal, floods and landslides kill 90 in two months, earthquake sweeping off over 9000 lives, losing 25% of the entire GDP. November’15 Paris attacks creating a humdrum on the renowned romantic palace on earth. Chennai floods, 2015 China, HinduKush , Illapel, Islamabad  South Kivu earthquake to name a few. These are not just puckish series of news being sold to the public, these are but a slight deterrent by nature, when will we finally realize that no matter how big, rich or powerful a humane is, he shall always stay at the mercy of nature. As a native American once said, “When the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught, the last river poisoned, only then will we realize that one cannot eat money.” This is not how modern urban lifestyle is ought to be lived. Have some compassion for the future generation and for other species too. Stop giving lectures  on ozone layer depletion while sitting inside air-conditioned room. Lift your feet from the gas pedal and lend a hand to that poor child or stray crying for one. Before the world falls apart and the sea cries out in agony, before a marooned  sky takes us all, shove up your smartphones inside your pocket instead drag a penny and heal the world. It’s a real disgrace to civilization how shallow people and their epicurean lifestyles are becoming. Earth is the only place we know, cherish it, nurture it and save it. I bet religious prayers are all a hoax and doesn’t add up  as any means of messiah. The end is near, the end is here. Let’s make a change, let’s try to live our lives as described, dreamed  and portrayed in John Lennon’s exquisite masterpiece “imagine”, can we? Of course we have to have deep pockets, we need to credit and toss up our bank accounts with filthy paper bunchs. It’s not atrocious to ask for a luxurious life, even I covet a rich and successful lifestyle, but what if we could all bat an eye on reconciling the only home we know? Which is stuck on an infinite loop of vicious circulation around a giant ball of fire swaying to infinite nothingness. Nothing but we humane blessed
with an ounce of intelligence can make it better.
To epilogue yet another under-rated article,”When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace” Jimi Hendrix. Let’s care a bit about technocracy and supress the democracy, let’s join hands not abaft soilwork defunct idols but  on consortium with each other, let’s stop showing off our wealth for a while and instead show up for the forsaken.
