Porsche Driver’s Selection is expanding its Masterpieces Collection launched in 2013 with an exclusive rim wall clock. Like all products in the collection, the wall clock is also made from a genuine sports car part: a 20-inch Porsche 911 turbo rim. The clock is made in Germany and available now at Porsche Centres across Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The Porsche 911 turbo rim gives the wall clock, which is designed by the Porsche Design Studio, its unique look. Both hands are made of aluminium, painted in the Porsche exterior colour “Indian Red”. The Porsche crest is in the centre of the rim and rotates with the minute hand, thanks to the integrated quartz watch mechanism from Germany. A steel wall rack guarantees that the clock, which weighs eight kilograms, is securely mounted. The wall clock is a genuine Porsche, right down to the last detail: the clock is even hung on the wall with a faithful recreation of a Porsche valve cap.
The rim wall clock goes perfectly with the office chair made from a Porsche 911 sports seat and the GT3 cup shelf made from a Porsche 911 GT3 cup rear spoiler.

Awarded ‘Best Start Up’ South East Asia at ‘Talent Unleashed’ just six months after setting up
Singapore, 24 July 2014 – Jamey Merkel, CEO and Co-Founder of Kluje.com–pronounced “KLOO-JAY”—an online service platform that helps homeowners and agents find better contractors, has recently been awarded as the regional winner for the Best Start Up Award for South East Asia at the Talent Unleashed Awards.
The Talent Unleashed Awards is a technology-based accolades program developed by global IT&T recruitment and technology services specialist, Talent International, and judged locally by Patrick Grove, CEO and Founder of Catcha Group, as well as Joel Neoh, Head of Groupon in Asia Pacific.
The award aims to discover and support extraordinary technology talent in the Asia Pacific region that shows potential to change the world by revolutionising industries and driving innovation.
Said Sir Richard Branson, “The Talent Unleashed Awards program reminds me of how important it is to bring out the best in people – something I’ve always been passionate about. It’s not just the individual’s responsibility to shine, it’s our responsibility to foster growth and this is certainly true in the technology sector.”
Started with his initiative to provide an easy way to find reliable and professional contractors in Singapore, Kluje.com founders Jamey Merkel and Andrew Esmonde-White established Kluje.com in late 2013. In just six months it showed rapid and dynamic growth, recognized by being named one of Singapore’s top 20 startups by Singapore Business Review and also being named a top 50 startup in Asia (out of 500) at Echelon 2014.
Shared Jamey, “It is such an honor to be awarded as the best startup in Talent Unleashed in South East Asia. I believe technology has a big role in driving social change. I hope Kluje.com’s participation in Talent Unleashed will encourage more technology professionals as individuals as well as startups to keep innovating to make our society better.”
The Talent Unleashed regional winners will next be judged in a final round by global judges Sir Richard Branson, Founder of the Virgin Group and Steve Wozniak, Apple Co-Founder, to win a five-day business-mentoring workshop at the Branson Centre for Entrepreneurship in South Africa in November this year.
Steve Wozniak praised the local start up scene, “When we think of great startups and where they began, you can’t help but look towards the United States and Silicon Valley where I first started, and the history-making achievements there. But more and more we’re seeing interesting startups flourish outside of Silicon Valley in places such as the UK and India but also in Israel, New Zealand, Singapore, Finland, and Brazil to name just some”.
Along with the countdown to the finals, Kluje.com is not resting on its laurels but moving its business to the next level by preparing to develop a mobile app for homeowners, property agents, facility managers and contractors to manage jobs and bids on the go. The app will be built in-houseby technology startup accelerator, GHX, and will be launched shortly.
The final winners for the Talent Unleashed Awards will be revealed concurrently at events taking place in Auckland, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore on July 31st 2014.

]]>Montegrappa is delighted to announce a special presentation of the Montegrappa ‘Icons’ Ayrton Senna Limited Edition in the company of Formula One Legend and Montegrappa Ambassador, Board Member and Shareholder, Jean Alesi. The presentation will take place on Monday, 31st March from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at our stand in BaselWorld.
To honour Senna, in the year that marks the 20th Anniversary of his legacy, Montegrappa will issue a series of pens that encapsulate his spirit and his style. The Ayrton Senna Icons pens will be offered as fountain pens, roller balls and ballpoints in jet-black resin, in a series of 1960 pieces each to mark the year of his birth. A solid sterling silver edition with cap and barrel engraved in low-relief will be available in a limited edition of 610 examples each as fountain pens and roller balls, representing his tally of championship points. To complete the collection, there is an exclusive solid gold version comprised of 20 fountain pens and 20 roller balls, which represent his career of 20 years as a racing driver.
A colleague, personal friend and competitor who raced against Ayrton Senna, Jean Alesi has kindly offered to join the two worlds of Formula One and Montegrappa at this special event.
Embodying the best elements of both the Italian and French zest for life, Jean is blessed with natural driving ability. The young Alesi started his career in karting, graduating to single seaters and winning the 1987 French Formula 3 title. Two years later, in only his second season in International F3000, he would capture the championship. His Formula One debut took place in the 1989 French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard, driving a Tyrrell-Cosworth, finishing fourth and scoring points in that year’s Italian and Spanish Grands Prix.
It was the start of a long, colourful and eventful career, with a win at the 1995 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal on his 31st birthday. In 2001, Jean became only the fifth driver to start 200 Grand Prix races, achieving thirty-two podiums. In 2007, he was knighted by Jacques Chirac, as a knight of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour (“Chevalier de la Legion d’honneur”).
In 2009, Jean joined Montegrappa as a shareholder and member of the board for public relations, which has allowed the racing legend to address, as he puts it, his “passion for all things hand-made.” As a consultant with design input, as well as an ambassador for the brand, Jean is, “for the first time, in a business which is not a racing business! I am happy and honoured to be associated with a company that is over 100 years old … and Italian!”
To enjoy the Montegrappa experience, please visit us at the Elmo & Montegrappa stand in Hall 2.2 (First Avenue), Stand C03.
Since 1912, for more than a century, Montegrappa has been manufacturing high-quality writing instruments in the same historic building in Bassano del Grappa, North East Italy.
