New Delhi, April 18, 2016: National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) along with Data Security Council of India (DSCI) and leading security software company Symantec launched the National Occupational Standards for ten cyber security job roles with the corresponding Qualification Packs (QP) in line with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). Several other organizations across IT/ITeS, Financial services and Consultancy Advisory services have provided necessary feedback and guidance to define the ten new job roles and Qualification Packs (QPs).
The event was conducted in the presence of senior functionaries across government, industry and academia, and witnessed the felicitation of women, on their way to becoming certified cyber security professionals.
With an objective of providing cyber security skills training and certification to women professionals in India, Symantec has also instituted scholarships to 1,000 women undertaking the cyber security certification by SSC NASSCOM. Last year, the organizations had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the launch of Cyber Security Skill Development Initiative.
Talking about Symantec’s on-going association with NASSCOM, Sanjay Rohatgi, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan, Symantec said “Building the next generation of cyber professionals is key to securing India’s critical information infrastructure, battling cybercrime and making the ‘Digital India’ initiative successful. As the global leader in cyber security, Symantec partners closely with governments and law enforcement agencies around the world. Leading on from our commitment in 2015, we continue to work closely with NASSCOM to build a cadre of world class, skilled and certified cyber security professionals in India, with a special focus on youth and women.”
Mr. R Chandrashekhar, President, NASSCOM, speaking on the occasion said, “This initiative has a two-pronged approach – it contributes to containing the spurt of cybercrime and also enhances the employability of the workforce. With collaborative efforts, we are glad to announce the launch of ten QPs & the courseware for QP Analyst – Application Security, which is the collective effort of the industry and is going to be a landmark in empowering women while fighting a major issue like cybercrime.”
The launch of the ten new qualification packs/job roles focuses on streamlining the cyber security skills development initiative, and also enhances the relevance and standards for talent development in the cyber Security community within India.

Koenig Solutions has adopted a few villages in Delhi and supports the education needs of its children New Delhi, April 26, 2015: Despite efforts on the part of the government and laws such the Right to Education and mid-day meal scheme, a large number of children in India fail to complete primary schooling. Financial constraints remain the main challenge to ensure students remain enrolled in schools.
As part of its social initiatives to help the communities around the capital city, leading IT training provider Koenig Solutions today provided books, free of cost, to nearly 400 underprivileged school children to support them and their families in their struggle for better lives.
Koenig Solutions has adopted the Shalamar, Haiderpur, Saipur, Shakurpur villages in Delhi and through various programs helps the communities improve their lives. The 9th annual book distribution ceremony was one such event organized by Koenig Solutions as part of its social initiative ‘Koenig Koshish’.
The company believes that more corporate organizations should step forward to support underprivileged children and needy communities to pave the way for their better future.
“When household incomes are low, families can barely afford reference books and tuition classes for their children. Many students drop out because they are unable to cope up with the financial pressure. Koenig Koshish is an earnest effort on our part to help such children stay in school and complete their education. Education, as we all agree, is the key to both social and economic transformation. It is through education that children can break the cycle of poverty. We are very happy by the results our efforts have shown. School authorities and parents alike have seen remarkable difference being made in the lives of these children through Koenig Koshish,” says Mr Rohit Aggarwal, CEO, Koenig Solutions.
There are a total of twelve such school projects run by Koenig that support the education of nearly 1500 school students. Apart from school tuition, Koenig also provides free-of-cost vocational training on MS Office & MCSA (Hardware & Networking), to the less privileged youngsters, so as to help them get a decent job to earn a respectable living.
One of the three pillars of foundation that have made Koenig what it is today is the focus on welfare of the community. Apart from its responsibility towards customers and employees, Koenig believes in giving back to the society and works relentlessly in this direction.

]]>Delhi, India – Oct. 29, 2012 – Norton by Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC) announced today that its award-winning consumer security products Norton 360, Norton Internet Security, and Norton AntiVirus are fully compatible with the newly released Windows 8 operating system[1]. The latest releases are optimized to make Windows 8 safer and faster compared with running Windows Defender on Windows 8.
“With the release of Windows 8 it’s important to recognize that consumers still need a comprehensive security solution – not just basic antivirus,” said Chris Christiansen, Program Vice President for IDC’s Security Products and Services group. “The types of threats most prevalent today are very sophisticated, complex and use social engineering to prey on consumer habits, so it’s crucial that security solutions not only address the current threat landscape, but also the latest trends in technology. By providing a more secure environment and optimized performance for Windows 8, Norton is improving and simplifying the user experience for consumers adopting this new platform.”
According to third-party testing, when paired with Norton, Windows 8 is 50 percent faster[2] and 20 percent safer than with Windows Defender[3]. In addition, testing showed that Norton was able to correctly detect and block all the threats that Windows Defender failed to recognize.[4] For more commentary on Windows 8 security, please visit the Norton Protection Blog.
