Nashik, 28th August ‘16:  Gaurav Gill and Musa Sherif of Team Mahindra Adventure stormed to victory at Round 2 of the MRF FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) – the MRF Rally of Maharashtra while Abhilash PG and Srikanth Gowda bagged top honors in the MRF FMSCI Indian Rally Championship (IRC). At the glittering podium ceremony followed by champagne shower held here in Nashik, the winners were awarded the trophies by honorable Madhav Nene, Senior General Manager, Marketing, Mahindra and Mahindra and Mr Bijoy Kumar, Chief of Mahindra Adventure, along with a prize money of Rs 50,000/-, in the presence of Mr. Arindam Ghosh, Director, Ramakrishna Race Performance Management (RRPM) – the promoters of the 2016 MRF FMSCI INRC and IRC.

MRF Rally of Maharashtra being the only tarmac event in INRC and IRC 2016 was indeed a super fast event, which was made all the more challenging by the rain god.  The slippery roads made Dean Mascarenhas and Ahmer topple their cars while Sameer Thapar slid off the road and got his car stuck in a mud bank. The slippery tracks did not even let Bopaiah K.M finish the rally as the lower arm of his car broke. On the other hand in spite of losing a lot of time due to 3 punctures in stage 1, 3 and 4, Amittrajit Ghosh of Team Mahindra Adventure managed to bag the 3rd position in INRC.

The team of Gaurav Gill and Musa Sherif won the rally with an overall time of 52 minutes 08 seconds followed by Arjun Rao and Satish Rajagopal as the first runners-up (53:12) and Amittrajit Ghosh and Ashwin Naik, also from Team Mahindra Adventure as the second runners-up (53:59) at the exhilarating MRF Rally of Maharashtra which was organized by the Western India Sports Association. Bikku Babu and George Milen won the INRC 2000cc category with a time of 54:33, while K J Jacob and Manoj Mohanan won the FMSCI Cup.

Abhilash PG and Srikanth Gowda, entered in the MRF FMSCI Indian Rally Championship (IRC) won their category with a time of 55:20 which ran concurrently with the INRC. Indian drivers in Indian cars were eligible for the INRC while Indian or Foreign drivers in Indian or Foreign cars were eligible for the IRC.

It must be noted that the INRC and IRC are two separate championships and their results are not clubbed together or compared as they run distinctively different vehicles, most importantly, the INRC is for two wheel drive Indian vehicles only while the four wheel drive foreign vehicles are allowed in the IRC.

The prizes for the different categories are as follows:

Position 1st 2nd 3rd
INRC Overall Gaurav Gill and Musa SherifTeam Mahindra AdventureRs 50,000/- + Trophies Arjun Rao and Satish RajagopalRs 30,000/- + Trophies Amittrajit Ghosh and Ashwin NaikRs 20,000/- + Trophies

The MRF Rally of Maharashtra, which is the 2nd round of the MRF FMSCI INRC and IRC 2016 season, zipped through the 6 stages covering about 75 kms. of tarmac roads around Bhandardara on the outskirts of Nashik. 32 teams from all over the country competed in this super exciting rally.

Mr. Arindam Ghosh, Director, RRPM said, “I want to thank MRF Tyres, Mahindra Adventure, Polaris and Pincon for sponsoring the 2016 INRC and IRC championships. I also congratulate all winners and the entire team of Western India Sports Association.”

The winning driver of the MRF Rally of Maharashtra (INRC), Gaurav Gill said “It was a very challenging weekend with weather paying spoilt sport and Nashik terrain being even more demanding but we got a great set up thanks to Mahindra Adventure and MRF.”

The second placed driver Arjun Rao said, “On the whole the rally was very good, finishing 2nd overall is a good start to the championship considering that I did not finish in Coimbatore. Stages were very fast, technical and needed 100% accuracy in terms of both driving and navigation. Thanks to my sponsors Mandavi Motors, MRF, Castrol and VW.”

Finishing third was Amittrajit Ghosh who said “Finishing 3rd even after three punctures in 6 stages feels as good as a win. Plus we leave round 2 still leading the championship. Not our day but that’s rallying. Thanks to the team as always for their hard work in getting us to the finish.”

The winner of the IRC, Abhilash PG said “Happy to take home maximum points from IRC in spite of two punctures as the tyre choice went wrong in the first loop. Two wins in IRC this year and a good start for the season.”

The INRC 2000cc winner, Bikku Babu said “We have been having a bit of bad luck in the last few rallies so the idea was to have a trouble free rally. Even though the stages especially the 1st stage was very tricky, and we had a bit of issues with our car ultimately we are happy to end as no 1 in 2000cc.”

magicbricksNational Property Index (NPI) grew by 1 per cent as per Magicbricks PropIndex (Jan-Mar 2014). The index in its third year showed that home-buyers preferred to be in the wait-and-watch mode due to the general elections.

“Capital values fell in all cities, except Pune. Over 30 per cent of the tracked localities registered a fall of 1-9 per cent.  However, rental values rose by 2-16 per cent across India with over 50 per cent localities across cities registering a rise.” the latest Magicbricks PropIndex reports.

City Index values, computed as a ratio of number of listings to prices, rose by 1-3 per cent, indicating that buyers who purchased for regular rental returns were winners. Ahmedabad and Ghaziabad registered a negligible drop of 1 per cent in the index values.

Political Uncertainty

“The year 2014 started with anticipation among real estate stakeholders concerning the 16th general elections in the country. These Lok Sabha elections kept the Indian Real Estate Market in the wait-and-watch mode. This was reflected in the National Property Index, registering a 1 per cent change in the Jan-Mar 2014 quarter.” explains Sudhir Pai, Business Head, Magicbricks.com

Demand Analysis

Mid-budget range of Rs 30-50 lakh remained the preferred category, especially in Bangalore and Pune.

Premium luxury properties remained oversupplied across cities despite a robust demand of over 20 per cent. Mumbai topped the chart with maximum demand for properties worth Rs 1 crore and Above, followed by Delhi and Gurgaon.

High-end properties worth Rs 2 crore and above remained more in demand in Delhi, Gurgaon and Mumbai. In all other cities luxury demand remained in the
Rs1 crore and Above range.

Robust Smaller Markets

In the current PropIndex issue, Greater Noida has been incorporated as an independent city, recording growing demand for residential properties and offering several options in the affordable range.

“The formation of a new government is expected to infuse fresh life into the real estate market and improve home buyer sentiments. In the Jan-Mar 2014 quarter, property markets remained sluggish. However, robust demand from end-users arrested any significant change in property values.” adds Jayashree Kurup, Content & Research Head, Magicbricks.com

  • Pune noted a rise in average capital values in over 80 per cent of the tracked localities
  • The city offered maximum number of newly built ready-to-move-in multi-storey apartments in the range of Rs 50-60 lakh in the 2BHK category. Maximum availability was in Wakad and Pimple Saudagar

About Magicbricks.com PropIndex:

PropIndex in its third year has accumulated a wealth of data/analytics on price/locality trends and market performance. PropIndex has been produced basis listing of apartments and their actual capital and rental values available on the website, since no credible property index can be a function of direct values as the changes are governed by multiple factors.

The data provided by PropIndex aids in decision making. Used in tandem with a host of advisory services available online at advice.magicbricks.com, the effort is to make this a one-stop shop for all property queries, requirements and information.

PropIndex is prepared and published by the country’s leading property portal Magicbricks.com, as a tool, which empowers property seekers and investors with detailed information on the movement of residential apartment prices and supply of properties in India.

Magicbricks has over 600,000 active properties posted by more than 1,50,000 active users in 300 cities and 10,000 localities. Users include owners, agents and developers.

Methodology:

Apartment values are based on listings on Magicbricks.com. These include multi-storey apartments and single units on plotted developments, referred to as builder floors.

The Index is structured in a way that individual properties are aggregated into their respective cities and then to the National Index. Weightages for PropIndex are based on the supply of properties within the locality/city. Based on this structure, PropIndex gives a realistic picture of trends in price/supply across different property markets in each city. Different weightages for Listed Price Monitor/Rent Monitor are used. Therefore, PropIndex along with tables provided for Listed Price Monitor, Rent Monitor, Yield Monitor and Capital Values gives a perspective of the property market performance in the quarter.

Listing and its values/supply provide a level of understanding into the market with meticulous data checks to prevent aberrations. These are based on statistical calculations, industry inputs and logical interpretations. The National Property Index (NPI) is indicative of the extent of activity and price movements in the major cities and localities active on Magicbricks.com. The index includes the top 11 cities (selected based on their activity levels) with an individual city report for each. While the NPI and its movements are of interest to the expert community of bankers, builders and investors, the PropIndex also explains the nuances of index movements at the locality level helping the consumer base on Magicbricks.com.

Insights into the consumer demand have been gathered through analysis of search information on the site. This helps to understand the best localities by demand, the type, configuration and the budget-wise preferences. The PropIndex is the result of meticulous research at the locality level and through detailed discussions with experts at Magicbricks.com’s offline and online initiatives. The Indian real estate market is dynamic and the PropIndex reflects those changes. Since it is derived from a dynamic database, additions and deletions of localities happen as a function of market changes.

Pune, INDIA – April 15, 2013: Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, along with the University of Pune (UoP), University of Mumbai (UoM), Dr. B. A. Marathwada University (Dr. BAMU), Aurangabad and Persistent Systems (BSE & NSE: PERSISTENT) the global leader in software product and technology services, today announced a strategic national initiative to identify and promote inclusive innovations aimed at improving the quality of life in India at the grass root level. In line with this, the group will host ‘Inclusive Innovations 2013’, a conference aimed at bringing grass root innovations to the masses.

With the coming together of the brightest minds in academics and business, this group will serve as a catalyst; taking socially relevant innovations with considerable business potential to the masses through systematic efforts. It will create a cohesive ecosystem that will support innovators through the innovation lifecycle by mentoring them, as well as teaming them with appropriate angel investors and industry houses. Additionally it will organize multiple programs including conventions, competitions, innovator mentoring workshops, strategy workshops and boot camps with angel investors.

‘Inclusive Innovations 2013’ is a first step in kicking off the group’s activities. The conference will be organized under the patronage of the Hon. Governor of Maharashtra, Shri K Shankarnarayanan on December 10th and 11th, 2013. It will bring together a multi-disciplinary community of eminent experts and young innovators/scientists from the healthcare, engineering, environment, agriculture and computer sciences (IT) fields to share their ideas and demonstrate the latest innovations in their respective areas.

The December conference will provide two key opportunities to bring innovators together with industry houses and potential investors – an exhibition and a competition. The Expo, held at the Agriculture College, Range Hills, Pune, will showcase prototypes of innovative ideas and will be open to these constituencies as well as the public at large. Additionally, an exciting competition called ‘BharatOvation’ will provide an opportunity for any Indian to submit ideas based on the “Inclusive Innovation” theme. After screening by an eminent panel of judges, the selected innovations will be showcased at the conference and their commercial viability assessed by potential investors. Submissions will be open from April 15, 2013 – Aug 14, 2013 and can be made by visiting the website of any of the participating Universities or on the exclusive competition portal at www.ii.muhs.ac.in.

The announcement of the convention was made by the Hon. Governor, in the presence of Dr. Anil Gupta, Executive Chair, National Innovation Foundation; Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Ex.
