The highlight of the event was the showcasing of the original trophy of Men’s Single and Women’s Single at the Longines boutique located in Connaught Place Delhi. Ace tennis player Yuki Bhambri who will be representing India at Roland Garros this year paid a special visit to Longines Boutique to witness this special display. Sharing his excitement, Yuki said; “I am extremely excited to witness this trophy up close and personal. Longines has a close relationship with Roland Garros and the Conquest 1/100th Roland Garros model is a fitting tribute to this. NB: The Official Watch of Roland Garros 2018 is a Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” model, which represents a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance.

Tissot Chemin des Tourelles

The Tissot Chemin des Tourelles is the latest creation from the brand and tells part of its history. Celebrating more than a century of watchmaking expertise, the watch comes in a multitude of different executions, expressed in a case with a resolutely contemporary design. From the three-hand model to the chronograph, it conveys an elegance that is orchestrated right the way through to the smallest details, with a Clous de Paris hobnail pattern below Roman numerals here, and a sunburst dial motif there. The Longines Pulsometer Chronograph

Longines draws upon its rich watchmaking heritage in reviving one of its 1920s models that was essentially used for medical purposes. Its pulsometric scale meant this monopusher chronograph made it possible not only to measure time, but also the heartbeat in a simple, reliable and accurate manner. Pulse measurements used to be taken over a 60-second period and involved counting the exact number of heartbeats during that entire time. The procedure was not always very rigorous and the creation of the pulsometer served to remedy such potential imprecision. Like the original model, The Longines Pulsometer Chronograph uses the chronograph hand sweeping around the pulsometric scale to indicate the patient’s pulse on the dial after just 30 beats.

Issued in limited series of 250 for its steel version, and 77 for the pink gold variation, the First Class Double Rotor Skeleton anniversary collection combines the watchmaking genius of this automatic winding system with the art of skeleton-working. Thanks to this ingenious alliance, the openworked dial enables the eye to travel into the heart of the mechanism, lulled by the natural rhythm of the second rotor. The pink gold Double Rotor features a new design with a Côtes de Genève finish and a special engraving to mark this jubilee. Loyal to the original model, the Manufacture Perrelet P-481 calibre has maintained the visible ruby in its centre to give a lively touch to this creation. Chronographe Percheron

When it comes to design, the new Percheron collection plays by its own rules, including for case construction. Raising the bar for solidity and shock-resistance, its multi-part architecture is designed in a unique capsule form that is anchored by screws that go all the way through the case to the back. The sub-bezel, with its stylised bumpers, adds to the impression of strength that comes from this innovative concept, designed to withstand depths down to 100 metres. First in this new collection of automatic watches, the Percheron chronograph leaves no doubt about its sporting and contemporary personality. The pink gold tones of the case make a sophisticated contrast with the smoke brown accents of the dial, while luminescent hands and markers ensure at-a-glance legibility, by day and by night.

Oris Thelonious Monk Limited Edition

Oris presents the latest timepiece in a collection that pays tribute to jazz legends. Produced as a 1,000-piece limited series, the Thelonious Monk celebrates the unique talent of one of the greatest ever American jazz pianists and composers. Monk was known for his avant-garde style and dissonant harmonies. In a clever reference to his distinctive technique, the smoke blue sunburst dial features 11 graduations between 10 and 12 o’clock. The hour-markers take the form of small polished dots. The back of the case is engraved with the “Round Minute” pianist’s favourite quip, “MONK ALWAYS KNOW”. He liked to share this play on words – “Monk” is “Know” backwards – with audiences by turning around the ring he wore and which had been custom-engraved with his name.

Xtratech Z50 2-Eye Chronograph 13¼‘‘‘

Z60, the range has been supplemented by a further model. The simple look of the new Z50 follows the trend for stopwatches and creative designs; thanks to the balanced positioning of the two eyes on the dial, the brand manufacturer has plenty of room for individual design. Ronda also sticks to the motto “less is more” for the new Z50: the functions of the repairable movement of size 13¼‘‘‘ with a 30.00 mm diameter are limited to a chrono stop-second, a 30-minute counter, a small second and a date indicator. In autumn 2015 the product will come onto the market in a nickel plated Swiss Made version. The Xtratech line intentionally sets aside any extras that would add to the expense of the movement; above all, it is very much in demand for fashion and sports watches.

Midnight Feathers Automatic 42mm

In 2012 Harry Winston brought together two age-old forms of expertise that, until then, nothing had destined to meet: watchmaking, the infinitely complex art of time measurement, and plumasserie, the rare and almost forgotten craft of creating art from feathers. The new Midnight Feathers Automatic 42mm now leads us on a fascinating journey into the deepest realms of the animal and plant kingdoms, for the colours of the feathers suggest the amber-tinted roots of vetiver, bulrushes and cedar wood. Each watch is a unique experience as each hand-crafted dial naturally varies with the individual feathers and the master craftsman’s touch. With infinite patience, each remige, or flight feather, is selected, coaxed into shape then laid in its exact position on the dial, using a loupe for the greatest possible precision. The visually striking marquetry plays on alternating colours, further accentuated by the perfect harmony between the pink gold of the case and the chocolate shades of the alligator strap.

i_3175_1PERRELET

Turbine Skeleton Réf. A3038/1A

A concentrated blend of more than 200 years of horological heritage combined with a resolutely innovative spirit, the iconic Turbine by Perrelet gets a complete makeover to welcome its first skeleton movement: redesigned dimensions, new aesthetic details, an evolution in materials. An authentic ode to transparency, the Turbine Skeleton reveals the internal structure of its entirely openworked Manufacture P-381 calibre. Exalting the beauty of this sculptural composition, the black aluminium turbine is fitted directly on the under-dial, itself openworked, so as not to obstruct the view of the heart of the watch. Spinning at full speed, the Turbine Skeleton provides fascinating glimpses through its openings of the mechanism’s ethereal architecture. Never before had it been possible to admire a skeleton movement in this way. The stunning vision is accentuated by the fascinating contrasting effects between the black of the turbine and the pink gold of the bezel and inner bezel ring, while the red-clad seconds hand lends the ultimate touch of style to this composition distinguished by its inimitable design.

Sophisticated and ultra-contemporary, albeit with a timeless touch drawing upon the values of traditional horology, the new Renaissance Orange Torando radiates genuine visual power. Its generous black-coated case frames a skeleton-worked movement developed and assembled in the Aerowatch workshops. Forming a resolutely graphic composition, this slender mechanism affords a view of the fascinating coiling of the barrel-spring and the constant rotation of the various interacting wheels and pinions. i_3172_1AUGUSTE REYMOND

Cotton Club Moonphase

Amid the tranquillity of the small village of Tramelan, at the heart of the Jura mountains, the cradle of Swiss watchmaking, time appears to have stood still. Here, in the Auguste Reymond workshops, watches are still made almost as they were in the early days of the brand, more than a century ago. The new Cotton Club Moonphase is no exception to this rule. Crafted in keeping with the grand Swiss watchmaking tradition, the watch beats to the rhythm of a mechanical movement hand-made in a highly exclusive small series. Its restrained lines, clear-cut, balanced design along with meticulous finishing right down to the smallest details, make this an authentic and beautiful timekeeping object capable of making its way unscathed across successive decades.

Almost a century after launching its first ladies’ models, the Silvana brand reiterates its vibrant tribute to femininity. With the new Lady Barrel collection, an authentic ode to beauty, the watch becomes a piece of jewellery, gently moulding and embracing the wrist. Through this collection, Silvana revisits the “tonneau” or barrel shape to achieve the perfect balance between soft angles and sleek curves sparkling with 42 diamonds. Standing out against the extremely elegant eggshell white dial, Roman or Arabic numerals (depending on the version) are interspersed with white diamonds lending a hint of eternity. A vermillion red satin strap or pink PVD-treated bracelet sets the finishing touch to the perfect visual harmony that gives this watch its unique personality.

i_3178_1MANJAZ

Apollo Premium Skeleton

Doing justice to its “Time to Swiss” campaign, Manjaz plunges into the very heart of traditional Swiss watchmaking and offers glimpses of the mechanical movement that beats inside the Skeleton Ref. 7703M. Certain of its secrets are divulged through an elegant S-shaped opening in the dial: S for Swiss, of course. However, this finely crafted mechanism – whose balance oscillates at a high frequency of 8 vibrations a second – only reveals its true colours when the watch is turned over. Then the mechanism can be contemplated at leisure through the sapphire back.

i_3166_1MATTHIA S & CLAIRE

Etrusca

Matthia’s & Claire presents Etrusca and once again displays its watchmaking and jewellery-making talent. The gemset yellow gold model enriching the existing jewellery collection refers to an historical period known for its magnificent goldsmithing: the Etruscan civilisation of which the Ticino-based brand reproduces the distinctive granulation technique. This consists of adorning the surface to be decorated with thousands of tiny gold granules and of fixing them to the piece of jewellery by soldering, yet without modifying their finesse. The bezel and bracelet links display this 7th century B.C. expertise now interpreted in a timepiece.

i_3060_1PATEK PHILIPPE | Annual Calendar Chronograph Ref. 5960/1A-001
Premiered in 2006, the Annual Calendar Chronograph in platinum was the first automatic chronograph from Patek Philippe. Its monocounter and calendar display in three large apertures set a new style. Now the Manufacture confounds expectations with the launch of the Reference 5960/1A, one of the very few Patek Philippe timepieces in steel outside its sports watch collections. The layout of the monocounter scales has been changed, with a 12-hour totaliser around the outer edge, a 0 to 30-minute totaliser in the middle, and a 30 to 60-minute totaliser in the centre. The automatic CH 28-520 IRM QA 24 calibre, with column wheel and disc clutch, also drives a day/night indication at 6 o’clock.
i_3058_1BREITLING | Navitimer GMT
In 1952, Breitling created the Navitimer watch, a “wrist instrument” specifically designed for pilots and other aviation professionals. Equipped with a circular slide rule, this chronograph soon became a cult object among passionate aeronautical enthusiasts. A loyal companion to airborne adventurers, it has always had the world as its horizon. The new Navitimer GMT confirms this vocation and thinks big with an imposing 48 mm case. The ingenious Manufacture Breitling Calibre B04 visible through the sapphire caseback powers an exceptionally functional dual timezone system: simply pulling the crown out and turning it backwards or forwards in one-hour increments is enough to adjust the watch to the hour and date of the travel timezone, while maintaining home time in 24-hour mode and losing no precision in terms of the minutes.
i_3059_1TISSOT | Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar
Tissot’s pioneering spirit led to the creation, in 1999, of tactile watches. Reasserting its position as the leader in this field, the brand now lifts the veil on the first tactile watch to be powered by solar energy. The rays of light that strike the dial not only enable the Super-LumiNova® hour-markers and hands to glow at night, they also charge the watch. Powerful in every way, the Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar lines up a whole battery of useful functions, including a perpetual calendar, alarm, second time zone, barometer, altimeter, chronograph, logbook, compass, regatta countdown, backlight, and more.
i_3057_1HARRY WINSTON | Premier Lady Chronograph
Mr Harry Winston loved women and set out to conquer the most extraordinary precious stones in their honour. In the same sparkling vein, the Premier Lady Chronograph is a combination of bejewelled extravagance and creative virtuosity. Derived from the first collection, launched in 1989, this timepiece features a slimmer case in pink gold with reworked attachments whose signature form alludes to the arches of Harry Winston’s flagship Salon on New York’s Fifth Avenue. Forging even stronger ties with the company’s heritage, generous diamonds, made all the more magnificent by a delicate setting, illuminate the wrist with their radiance and purity. The elegant Tahitian mother-of-pearl dial introduces a touch of brown with smoked accents. An exquisite crown brings the final, perfect detail that sets the seal on this timepiece’s jewellery legacy.
i_3056_1LONGINES | The Longines Elegant Collection
Right from its origins, Longines has always been guided by elegance. Renowned for its classic creations, the brand with the hourglass logo now presents The Longines Elegant Collection, a line of models embodying its slogan “Elegance is an attitude”. A refined case in steel or two-tone steel topped with pink gold, set or non-set provides a delightfully well-rounded frame for this watch available in three sizes. Each of the watches expresses its own vision of elegance through various dial executions, with or without diamonds. At their heart beats a mechanical automatic movement recalling Longines’ watchmaking tradition. A bracelet composed of slender links sets the perfect finishing touch.
i_3055_1BULGARI | Octo Velocissimo
An authentic work of art dedicated to strong personalities, the new Octo Velocissimo transcends its pure function to take on a more universal dimension, brimming with aesthetic and emotional meaning. This sophisticated creation with a technical vocation proclaims an exceptional style elegantly staged in octagonal lines, while the three counters arranged in a V shape create a pleasing visual balance on the hand-polished lacquered dial. This precious object distinguished by a blend of complexity and power is driven by an “engine” worthy of its “bodywork”: the Velocissimo calibre, an integrated column-wheel chronograph movement with a silicon escapement, beating at the high frequency of 36,000 vib/h and dedicated to achieving exceptional precision.
i_3054_1MCT | Sequential Two – S200
MCT’s emblematic prism-style hour display appears for the first time within a round case. The perfectly made case of the new Sequential Two reveals all the brand’s signature design features, including the famous sapphire ring on the caseband as well as the innovative hour display for which it has become known. The entirely in-house developed new automatic movement orchestrates the fascinating reading of time via a sequential display that has established MCT firmly within the circles of contemporary Haute Horlogerie. The hours are indicated by four generous blocks, each composed of five triangular prisms. The hour in progress appears in a remarkably readable manner through an open “window”, while the others are hidden by a segment turning counter-clockwise every 60 minutes. Setting the ultimate touch to this fascinating composition with its uncompromising design, the minutes appear around the entire 360° dial perimeter.
i_3053_1CONCORD | Mariner
Concord revisits an iconic collection born in 1980 in order to capture the essence of a contemporary, chic and casual style: Mariner. Inspired by seaside atmospheres, it bears a signature wind-rose evoking relaxed evenings spent chilling in a marina. Now also available in a men’s version, it comes with a 41 mm steel case playing with angles and rounded shapes to create a supremely pure composition, powered by an automatic or quartz movement. When addressing women, Mariner comes in two versions: one playing on a monochrome steel effect, and the other featuring shimmering colours framed by a steel and 18K pink gold case. Both are graced with a diamond-set bezel and a white mother-of-pearl dial set with 12 diamond hour-markers.
i_3052_1CERTINA | DS Eagle
Inspired by extreme sports, the new DS Eagle offers a powerful blend of remarkable precision with its ETA quartz Precidrive movement, featuring an uncompromisingly virile design style. The black rubber-clad bezel frames a broad dial with a textured surface confirming the geometrical lines of a pink gold PVD-plated case. The impressively high-performing DS Eagle features exceptional readability thanks to generous luminescent hands and hour-markers, while the watch as a whole is water-resistant to a pressure of 20 bar (200 metres).
i_3051_1ANONIMO | Militare Millésime Alpini Chrono
Paying tribute to its Tuscan origins, Anonimo enlivens the staid world of watchmaking with bronze – a material largely featured on various statues adorning the squares of Italian cities. Florence-based artisans carved the watch case from a solid block of particularly hard and scratch-resistant bronze. Celebrating both Italian Alpine troops and the legendary Matterhorn peak which, like Anonimo, has one foot in Italy and another in Switzerland, this new chronograph beats to the rhythm of a Swiss mechanical movement.
