]]>Høvik, Norway, 25 September 2017 – DNV GL has transferred all its 90 000 certificates to a private blockchain, being the first in the certification industry to leverage on this technology. Every certificate is digitally tagged, traceable and stored in a private blockchain. The technology blocks counterfeit certificates, allowing companies to communicate their certification in a transparent and secure way.

“For 150 years, we in DNV GL have been in the business of building trust, but in the age of digital transformation, there is an increased need for transparency in a volatile business environment,” says Luca Crisciotti, CEO of DNV GL – Business Assurance.
In an increased effort to build digital trust, DNV GL in partnership with Deloitte EMEA Blockchain Lab have now delivered the first live blockchain solution in the certification industry.
“This is one of the first blockchain applications outside the finance industry, and it shows the limitless possibilities this technology provides. In not too long there will be concepts, prototypes and investments emerging in every major industry,” says Martin Bryn, Partner at Deloitte.
As a business assurance provider, DNV GL works in a variety of industries to certify companies’ processes, products, facilities and supply chains to national and international standards. When a certificate is issued, the data is digitized, sent to the blockchain and a digital identity is assigned to each certificate. All certificates are uniquely tagged and traceable and the original is stored in a network of computers instead of a central repository. In total, this makes it possible to uncover fraud and by scanning a QR code on the certificate anyone can through the blockchain verify that a company is certified.
“Putting our certificates in the blockchain is the first step towards building a new digital assurance concept. Our objective is to use blockchain and other disruptive technologies to provide new services and continue to create value for our customers,” says Renato Grottola, Global Digital Transformation Director, DNV GL – Business Assurance.

* Largest class comprising 762 students across Hyderabad and Mohali campuses
* 21% increase in number of Participating Companies – 421
* · 27% increase in number of Offers – 798
Hyderabad/ Mohali, April 26, 2013: The Indian School of Business (ISB) today announced the placement results for the Class of 2013 of its Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP). The Class comprising 762 students participated in a first-of-its-kind ‘integrated’ placements held across the Hyderabad and Mohali campuses. Under this process, the ISB ensured campus-neutral placements that allowed students and recruiters an equal opportunity to interact with each other irrespective of the location.
Making the announcement, Deepak Chandra, Deputy Dean, ISB said, “The 2013 placements season at ISB signifies an important milestone in the history of the school. We are happy to share that the integrated approach has proved to be a successful model. It has set new benchmarks by attracting the highest number of recruiters who have made the largest number of offers that we have ever received. We are very appreciative of the support received from our recruiters, students and alumni in this initiative. This success is also a testimony to the acceptance of the one school, two campus philosophy of the ISB.”
The placements highlights for the year include:
Highest number of participating Companies and Offers: Through the ‘integrated’ placements concept, the ISB made all efforts to reach out to a large number of recruiters and as a result, the number of companies participating and offers made has seen a significant increase. A total of 421 companies (increase of 21% over last year) have contributed around 798 offers (increase of 27% over last year) as on date. With the rolling placements still underway, and around 5 % of the Class participating in various stages of the placements process, these numbers will only increase further, till the process concludes in May.
Women students continue to fare well: Women students at the ISB, who comprise 29% of the class, have done exceptionally well both in terms of offers received as well as roles. Reflecting a trend of recruiting women for strategic roles, several leading companies chose our women students for key roles such as Director, Chief Strategy Officer, General Manager, Executive Assistant to Managing Director, Vice Presidents and Regional Managers. A highlight of this year was the ‘Axis Bank – ISB Leadership Programme’, where the bank selected 12 women students to build a women leadership pipeline for their organisation.
Leadership Programmes robust: Companies across sectors and geographies continued to bring their prestigious Leadership Programmes to the ISB. These roles are aimed at building the leadership pipeline for the participating companies. Leadership programmes constituted around 10% of the total number of offers made this year, and came from companies such as Aditya Birla Group, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, IBM India, Ranbaxy Ltd, General Electric, HCL Technologies, among others.
Technology and Consulting emerge as leading Sectors: The Technology sector made the largest number of offers on campus. 300 offers were made by 53 companies such as Apple, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Facebook, Google, HCL, Hewlett Packard, IBM, ITC Infotech, Microsoft, Wipro Ltd, among others.
Consulting sector was the second largest recruiter, contributing 163 offers from around 30 companies including A T Kearney, Accenture, Booz & Co, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Global eProcure, KPMG, McKinsey & Company, Oliver Wyman, Parthenon and PwC.
Increased interest from the BFSI sector: This year saw a revival in hiring for finance positions wherein several leading banks and other financial institutions made a total of 75 offers on campus. Companies included Citibank NA, Delta Partners FZ LLC, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, ICICI Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, UBS AG, Yes Bank, among others.
Pharma, Healthcare and Biotech remain steady: For the third consecutive year this sector made its presence felt and contributed 58 offers, which were made by leading players including Biocon, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Johnson & Johnson, Max Healthcare Ltd, Novartis Pharma AG and Ranbaxy Laboratories among others. ISB is perhaps the only B-School where this sector continues to recruit year on year in significant numbers, owing to the presence of several healthcare and pharma professionals in the student body.
Leading Functional Choices: Consulting and Sales & Marketing were the two most preferred functional areas for ISB graduates attracting 27 % and 21% of students respectively. Recruiting companies for Sales & Marketing roles included Arvind Lifestyle Brands & Retail, Bharti Walmart, Britannia Industries, Dabur India, Hindustan Unilever, Reckitt Benckiser, Videocon Industries, among others.
A total of 741 students participated in the placements process this year, out of the 762 students in the Class of 2013. 21 students opted out of the process to start their own ventures, return to their companies or family businesses. The ISB follows the ‘Rolling Placements’ concept – a lateral hiring process spread over several months, giving both the recruiters and the students, time to find their best fit. During this period, the school also supports and encourages students in their independent search efforts to find their preferred careers. Through these various options, the school aims to provide students with more offers as well as variety of roles to find their best match.
About the Indian School of Business (ISB)
The ISB was established in 2001 with an aspiration to put India on the global map of management education. Over the years, the ISB has successfully pioneered several new trends in management education in India, and has firmly established itself as one among the top global b Schools. Though located at Hyderabad and Mohali, the School functions as one entity with a seamless integration across both the campuses.
