[India, New Delhi, March 16, 2018] Pietro Fiorentini, a pioneer in NB-IoT for Smart Meters, said its RSE model Smart Gas Meter with 3GPP NB-IoT enabled connectivity has met European Union approvals. It becomes the first Smart Gas Meter with NB-IoT connectivity on the market to bear the EU’s RED (Radio Emission Directive), MID (Measuring Instrument Directive) and ATEX (Installations in Explosive atmosphere) approvals.

As part of this ecosystem, Huawei’s joint NB-IoT Open Labs working with European carriers provided Pietro Fiorentini with a pre-integration testing environment to explore the potential capabilities of NB-IoT as well as integration of the end-to-end solution ahead of the trial and commercial phases.

Terranova Software provided additional expertise by jointly developing the NB-IoT specific Data Acquisition System, Meter Data Management and Network Manager to ensure seamless connectivity and overall solution integration.

Utility companies can now manage their networks in a more efficient and transparent way for their customers. Utilities using this technology will be able to develop a better informed and responsible consumption model.  Pietro Fiorentini’s has already carried out successful trials of its NB-IoT Smart Gas Meter in Italy, Spain, China, Portugal, Iran, Sweden, Ireland, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland.

A new GRI linkage document shows how companies can use the G4 Guidelines to comply with the European Directive on disclosure of non-financial and diversity information.

AMSTERDAM, February 3, 2015 – Today, GRI, architect of the world’s most widely used sustainability reporting framework, has released the publication “Making headway in Europe”, which sets out the links between GRI’s G4 Guidelines and the recently adopted European Directive on disclosure of non-financial and diversity information. The linkage document specifies how G4 can be used to gather information, and formulate responses, to each element of the European Directive.

“This linkage document shows why organizations that fall under the Directive should use G4, and how they can do so,” said GRI’s Deputy Chief Executive Teresa Fogelberg. “This publication is yet another example of GRI’s commitment to advancing corporate transparency, as well as sustainable and inclusive growth within the European Union and beyond.”

Following the adoption by the Council of the European Union the Directive entered into force in December 2014. As a result, 6,000 large, public interest enterprises, within the European Union, will have to report on a number of sustainability matters. The Directive covers issues such as environmental, social, and labor impacts, along with anti-corruption, bribery, and respect for human rights. The reports or statements, produced in response to the Directive, will also need to include a description of the policies, outcomes and the risks related to those topics.

“G4 offers comprehensive guidance for companies, allowing them to fulfill the transparency expectations formulated in the Directive.” said GRI’s Director Reporting Standard Bastian Buck.

PMC Bank Deploys Array’s Application Delivery Controller to Provide High Speed Connectivity for Internet and Mobile Users

The IT department of the PMC Bank now has better visibility and can monitor the internet banking portal hits and other services, delivered to the customers. The Array’s solution has enabled the bank to maintain its banking services in Active/Active DC-DR or Active/Passive DC-DR.
