One of the largest collections of Cadillacs ever to be put under the hammer will be appearing alongside a prominent collection of American and European classic cars at Maastricht on 10th January with no reserve.
The sale at Les Grandes Marques, Interclassics and Topmobiel show in Maastricht, The Netherlands, is one of a kind, featuring 100 American and European classics, 35 of which are Cadillacs. The cars featured are coming from the Stasys Brundza Collection, one of Eastern Europe’s most significant private collections to be offered for sale.
An early 1904 Cadillac B 4S will be featuring at the auction, this model was only in production for over a year and its sturdy single cylinder engine was inherited from its predecessors, but the wheelbase was slightly increased to give more space and greater stability. This beautiful two seater example is finished in Burgundy and is in pleasing cosmetic condition, equipped with artillery wheels and a pair of brass headlamps. This model is estimated at €60,000 – €75,000.

Also featuring is a 1959 Cadillac Sedan De Ville Flat Top, including a 6.4 litre V8 engine, clocking only 51,286 miles. Finished in Princess Green with a preserved beige interior, this is a stunning example, presenting a great chance to purchase a classic Cadillac from the 1958 range at no reserve. This example is estimated at €30,000 – €40,000.
Another prominent Cadillac in the collection is a 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75, estimated at €20,000 – €25,000. The range of models that this Cadillac comes from is renowned for their exaggerated tailfins and “bullet” rear lights, creating a sensation on their introduction, being one of the most celebrated and collectable of all post-war models.

Formula One star Kimi Raikkonen’s 2000 Tatuus Formula Renault will be auctioned at no reserve by international auctioneers Coys on Saturday 10th January at the Autosport International racing car show.The Tatuus Formula Renault was manufactured in 2000 and bought by Manor Motorsport that year, who contested the British Formula Renault Championship with former Formula One World Champion Kimi Raikkonen as their driver. Kimi won seven out of ten events in the Formula Renault UK, winning the Championship in this car in 2000.
The car was then driven by Leighton Walker, who retired in 2001, and was rebuilt in 2005 by Manor Motorsport with its original engine, gearbox and monocoque. It is offered at no reserve.
Also featuring in the auction will be a 1967 Volkswagen Splitscreen Camper, previously belonging to ex-American Blues artist Seasick Steve. This camper is in excellent condition, refinements have been made to the mechanical side of the vehicle by world-renowned VW Splitscreen experts, who increased the high-speed gearing and uprated the engine to a 1598cc flat-four with twin-carbs. The interior features varnished wooden cabinets, leather seating and a fold away double bed and table.
Coys auction will see a number of Grand Prix, competition, touring and rally cars going under the hammer, including a 1998 Ex-Works Honda British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). The car, built and ran for Honda by Pro-drive, was driven in the BTCC by Peter Kox during the 1998 season on behalf of the works Honda Sport team. It is estimated at £80,000 to £100,000.

The Cosworth is number 479 out of 500 produced and is finished in the rarest colour of moonstone blue. The car is totally immaculate and near impossible to point fault at after undergoing a full restoration. Moonstone blue RS500’s are rarely offered for sale especially in such good condition, which makes this a very rare chance to buy a quickly appreciating and unique car. It is estimated at £45,000 to £55,000.
The Fanalone is the ultimate HF road version of the Fulvia. One of only 1,200 made, this fine example is presented in the rare colour combination of Rosso San Siro, finished with the customary black bonnet and wing tops. It boasts original Group 3 Fanalone arches, aluminium doors and front and rear hoods.
This car has been prepared to compete as an endurance rally car and has raced in many rallies including Monte Carlo, Trial to the Nile, 1000 Millas de los Pirineos and the Tour de España. It is estimated at £35,000 to £40,000.
Chris said: “There will also be seven motor cars present from the hit television production ‘For the Love of Cars’ for a live auction, featuring car fanatic Philip Glenister and internationally renowned car designer Ant Anstead.”
Other entries include a 1985 Austin Mini Mayfair, with only 3,241 miles from new, offered at no reserve and a 1952 MG TD Mk II, one owner from new, estimated at £20,000 to £30,000.

  Over seventy collector cars and motorcycles and one hundred original film posters to be auctioned
With more than seventy vehicles going under the hammer, including Niki Lauda’s first F1 car and a huge number of cinema posters, Coys end of season ‘True Greats’ Christmas sale at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London on December 2nd is likely to be a real blockbuster.
Chris Routledge, Managing Partner at Coys, said: “We have an amazing number of interesting cars going under the hammer. It will be a truly unique opportunity for any serious collector to acquire some of the most spectacular cars available on the open market.” The auction will feature three times World Champion Niki Lauda’s first F1 car. This iconic former Grand Prix March from the “Golden Era” was built in 1971 for Ronnie Peterson, who used it as his initial Works Team Car at Kylami, Monaco and the memorable Zandfort race. This then became his spare car after he took over the new 711 -6 chassis at the German Grand Prix of that year. It was at this time in 1971 that this car became the career opener for Niki Lauda when he started at Peterson’s team as the second works driver. It is estimated at £450,000 to £500,000. The sale will also feature a 1964 Works Prototype Porsche 904/6 Carrera GTP, possibly one of the finest and most successful Porsches ever constructed. It kick started a program of racing cars, that would eventually result in the all-conquering 917. It also holds a unique spot in the manufacturer’s history as the last dual-purpose sports scar Porsche ever built. The car comes with a file containing letters from Porsche Works confirming 904-108`s works prototype history and pictures of its works participation at the 1965 Targa Florio. Immaculately presented, ready for use and running as it should, this is a world-class car for a world-class collection. It is estimated at £1,100,000 to £1,300,000. A wonderful 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/2 6 C is also on offer. This is an early short nose example in excellent all round condition in its distinctive Giallo Fly, a colour that complements the 275’s lines beautifully. Mechanically, it is in outstanding condition, it boasts an interesting specification, proudly bearing the rare and desirable 6 carburettors. It is estimated at £1,100,000 to £1,400,000 Serious collectors or Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts will find an example of one of the most desirable sports-coupes ever made, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing. This exceptional car boasts a desirable original specification and retains its original engine. It is estimated at £950,000 to £1,100,000. A 1936 Alvis Speed 20 Vanden Plas Tourer, ex Brooklands winning car and one of only six produced will be on sale, estimated at £110,000 to £130,000. This matching numbers car, with extensive pre and post war race history, is offered in its original factory specification. Finished in silver beige over black with a complementary and original beige interior, it is supplied with full VSCC and FIVA papers, which enable it to compete in many events worldwide. It is estimated at £90,000 to £110,000. The auction will also feature a 1970 Renault Alpine A 110 Factory prototype “Group 4” with FIA papers, estimated at £190,000 to £ 220,000; a 1934 Bugatti Type 57 Series I Ventoux, estimated at £250,000 to £280,000; a beautiful and original 1948 MG TC, estimated at £20,000 to £25,000; and a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS, estimated at £350,000 to 450,000. Chris Routledge, Managing Partner at international auctioneers Coys, said: “Nurburgring promises to be a spectacular sale. We are featuring a specialist section, ‘The Excellence of Porsche’, offering some of the finest Porsches available on the market anywhere in the world today, including an ultra-rare and original 1970 911S/T, formerly the property of Walter Röhrl, and a highly genuine Porsche 934 RSR Turbo, triple Le Mans entrant in 76, 77 and 78.”
Arguably the most exciting car in the auction, the Porsche 911 S/T competed with its first owner in 1971 at the Avus Ring in Berlin where it was placed 6th and 7th in the GT class and Group 4 respectively. No expense has been spared in the restoration of this car, achieving the standard exactly as it left Werk 1 in 1970. All the engine parts are original S/T specification and not re-manufactured, there are engine bills amounting to €150,000 and paintwork bills totalling over €25,000.
Estimated at €900,000 to €1,100,000, this car was most significantly in Walter Röhrl’s ownership between 2009 and 2011, who is named on its current FIA HTP papers. This is one of the rarest and most sought after 911s in the world and surely worthy of a place in any Porsche museum or to be seen in any significant worldwide motoring event.
Another feature of the specialist Porsche section is the 1976 934 RSR Turbo, estimated at €900,000 to €1,000,000, which started at Le Mans in 1976 with drivers Nick Faure and John Goss. The car did not finish the race due to problems with the turbocharger and was subsequently sold to well-known NSU and Porsche tuner Jean-Pierre Gaban. This is indeed one of the ultra-rare (1 of 31 built) Porsche 934 RSR Turbos with documented period race history, FIA papers and race ready, and certainly one of the most significant survivors from this important period of racing.
The sale will also feature a very exciting ex-works BMW 2002 competition car, originally fitted with a Grand Prix engine by the factory and raced by none other than Jean Todt. This car, estimated at €180,000 to €220,000, was the second of two cars built by BMW Motorsport in 1974/75 and fitted with a modified M12/7 Formula 2 engine. The vendor first remembers seeing the car competing in June of 1975, where won the Donegal International Rally with drivers Warmbold and Davenport.
On the more contemporary end of the spectrum, Coys will be selling the now world famous Works – built Ferrari Tipo 458 Italia, best known as ‘The Niki Lauda Car’. As one of the most striking Ferrari’s for a long time, the 458 mixes delicate lines with aggressive styling combined to form one of the prettiest cars on the market with visual drama from every angle. The 2014 Ferrari 458, estimated at €210,000 – €250,000 is a one-off special edition created by Ferrari’s Tailor Made personalisation programme, commissioned by a customer to celebrate the marque’s 1970s F1 racing heritage and more specifically the two-time World Champion Niki Lauda.
A Porsche 356 Speedster featured at the auction left the factory in Stuttgart in 1958 and is one of only 552 made that year. As one of the most iconic styled sports cars of all time, this fine example is finished in silver with a stylish black interior and is estimated at €250,000 at €300,000.
Another stunning example being offered is a 1971 Ferrari Dino 246GT, estimated at €270,000 to €300,000. The definitive 246 Dino, with its 2.4 litre V6 appeared in late 1969 and fewer than 4,000 were built (about 1,200 of them had the detachable roof Spyder version). This example underwent a full restoration during 2011 and was then sold to a collector in Spain where it has spent the last couple of years.

All the gadgets that appeared in Bond’s car in the Goldfinger novel appear in this Aston Martin, including reinforced steel bumpers, concealed lockers, a heavy-duty anti-interference ignition system, driver’s seat connections for two-way radio and a Halda Speed Pilot. This model is a strong contender for the world’s most significant Aston Martin ever to be offered to the open market.
Chris Routledge, Managing Partner of the auction house, said “This could be one of the most important discoveries of all time, confirming the link between the undoubtedly most famous spy in history and possibly the world’s most iconic sports car marque”.
Also appearing at the auction will be a 1951 Jaguar Mk V Drophead Coupé, one of the most desirable cars of its time, with exceptional performance and handling. Its age has added lustre to its reputation with the stylish drophead coupé being particularly desirable. Estimated at £50,000 – £60,000, these were one of the most luxurious models of their day and still turn heads today.
A 1934 Bugatti Type 57 Series I Ventoux is estimated to make £275,000 to £320,000, featuring a ‘profilee’ windscreen and what were known as ‘spats’, which fill the rear wheel arches. This is an uncommonly pure example of the superb early version of the design; the frontal aspect is balanced by a small integral projecting luggage boot, the exterior handsomely finished in Embassy Black and retains the correct wire wheels.
Alongside the car auction, attendees have been invited to bring with them their own classic cars, comprising a Concours d’ Elegance, which is set to feature the likes of a 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/4, a 1967 Lamborghini Miura and many more, all of which will be judged by a selection of guest judges.
This selection of judges includes BBC Oxford’s Roving Reporter Lilley Mitchel, AC Owner’s Club Chairman Bertie Gilbart Smith, Royal Marine Lt Colonel Cliff Dare MBE and Karen Ellis, the CEO of Ellis Clowes specialist motor sport insurance company. This event will provide a bit of light hearted entertainment, as well as giving those present a chance to showcase their own classic cars.
To celebrate the 350th anniversary of Royal marines, a number of military vehicles will be present on the day at Blenheim Palace, including a 1941 Austin Utility, a 1944 Bedford M.W, a 1936 Morris Commercial CS8 Mk3, amongst others. This marks a momentous anniversary of a vital part of Britain’s Armed Forces, who were formed on the 28h October 1664 after an Order-in-Council was issued calling for 1200 soldiers to be recruited for service in the Fleet. The military vehicles will be accompanied by a group of Royal Marines Cadets, and will be judged by Lt Colonel Cliff Dare, who will award the winner the 350th Anniversary Cup.
Not only will COYS be putting an extensive selection of classic cars under the hammer, they will also be putting over 90 motorcycles to auction on Friday 11th July at Blenheim Palace. Featuring among these motorcycles is a 1920 Henderson 1300 four cylinder, complete with a stylish sidecar assembled by Ferrari, which was an exhibit in the sidecar museum near Ancona. A very rare find, this Henderson is estimated at £55,000 to £70,000, and is presented in a well-preserved condition.
Also featuring at the motorcycle auction on the 11th is an extremely rare Harley-Davidson XR750, described as one of the most famous racing bikes in American motorcycle history, estimated to go for £25,000 to £30,000. This model was limited to the public through only authorised dealers, meaning even in its day it was a rarity, dominating ‘flat track’ racing for over 10 years.

A 1972 Maserati Ghibli SS fetched £177,640, which is believed to be a world record price for this model and the first of the three records broken by Coys.
The other two cars reaching exceptional prices were a 1981 Delorean DMC-12 and a 1950 Series 1 Land Rover 80”, both part of the new Channel 4 series “Cars” (working title) with star Philip Glenister and restorer Ant Anstead – prices for these cars will be revealed later this summer when the show goes on air.
Chris Routledge, Managing Partner at Coys, said: “It was an exceptional event, a buzzing evening with celebrities and a great crowd. The six Channel 4 cars sold really well, including two world records, but you will have to watch it on TV this summer to know how much they went for!”
He added: “It was the first time for an auction company in Europe to do something like this. The experience was excellent, clients really enjoyed it and we were delighted to be associated with the production, which gave collectors the opportunity to purchase genuine celebrity television-featured cars that have been restored effectively regardless of cost.”
Other important cars that went under the hammer included the former manager of The Beatles Brian Epstein’s 1964 Bentley S3, which sold for £31,000, a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 that sold for £360,000 and a 1926 Rolls Royce 20HP Barrel sided Tourer that sold for £103,720.

Known as “Mr. 25%”, referring to Epstein’s cut of The Beatles’ gross earnings, it is estimated that he earned £75 million in today’s money. One of the things he did was spend some of that income on buying this car to replace his second hand Bentley S1.
First registered on 18th February 1964, this was Epstein’s first brand new Bentley and still bears the original AJB400B registration number.
He had ordered it in late 1963, with some assistance from Derek Taylor, the Beatles’ Press Officer, placing the order through R.S. Mead Ltd of Maidenhead. The car was then collected from the dealer by Derek Taylor and Lonnie Trimble, Brian’s valet/chauffeur, as he was in the USA with The Beatles.
On 22 February 1964, The Beatles and Brian returned to the UK after appearing on the Ed Sullivan show in the USA by the time when the Beatlemania hit the USA. Arriving at Heathrow airport at 7 am, they were met by an estimated ten thousand fans (Derek Taylor and Lonnie Trimble had brought the Bentley to collect Brian). They were interviewed by Pathe News:
Q: “Have you got time to actually spend this money?”
BEATLES: (in unison) “What money??”
Q: “Doesn’t he (Brian Epstein) give any to you?”
GEORGE: “No, no. Have you seen that car of his?” (laughter)
George was referring to Brian’s new Bentley S3 which was sitting outside the airport’s Kingsford-Smith VIP suite.
In October 1965, Epstein sold the car and it passed into the hands of Sidney J. Dicks Ltd. Subsequent owners include a London solicitor, Mr. Levinson, and Norman Boyack, a theatrical agent.
In the same ownership for over 25 years, the car has a thick history file, detailing a bare metal re-spray as well as piston ring replacement and engine overhaul. The file also has copies of the original History Sheet and chassis listing, DVLA and previous-owner correspondence, copies of press cuttings and marque-related literature, copy of the owner’s manual and a quantity of expired MoTs and tax discs.
The car is currently taxed and MoT’d and comes with current V5C registration document. The original radio has been converted to FM and comes with a tool kit with jack and spare wheel.
Chris Routledge, Coys Managing Partner, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to own a car directly connected to The Beatles. It is in great condition, full of history and would certainly make a perfect addition to any collection. We estimate it might sell for between £40,000 and £70,000.”

A personal photograph taken by Michael Schumacher is to be auctioned in London this Friday to raise funds for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
COYS Managing Director, Chris Routledge, said: “It is a great privilege to auction a picture of a view that was taken by Michael. And that the money raised from its sale will go to such a great cause as Great Ormond Street.”
He added: “The photograph is creating a lot of interest. I hope that Michael’s condition continues to improve and that the picture sells well.”
The sale will feature signed pictures taken throughout the 2013 season by the drivers and team principals themselves and all the proceeds will go to Great Ormond Street.
The lots for sale include Fernando Alonso’s podium shot of the Monza crowd, Nico Rosberg at the wheel of a 1938 W154 Mercedes-Benz and other images from Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Mark Webber in his final season.
Also among the lots will be seven Nikon COOLPIX S99500 cameras that have been signed by some of the world’s greatest drivers, including Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, Damon Hill, Jacques Villeneuve, John Surtees, Alain Prost and Sir Jackie Stewart.
Chris Routledge added: “We are delighted to be associated with this event for the second year. In 2012 nearly £13,000 was raised for the charity and we are hoping that this will be exceeded this year.”
The auction starts at 6.30pm.
