– an initiative towards promoting inclusive participation of women in the industry

  • Over the last 20 years, Intel has invested over INR 30,000 crore in India

15th November 2018, Bengaluru: Furthering its commitment to advancing research & development (R&D) and innovation in the country, Intel India marked its 20th anniversary today with the inauguration of its latest state-of-the-art design house, SRR4, at its Bengaluru campus. It also announced key initiatives to promote innovation in the technology ecosystem and support inclusive participation of women in the industry.

Built with an investment of approximately INR 1100 crore, the newest facility located at Intel’s 44-acre campus on Sarjapur Ring Road (SRR) in Bengaluru, has 620,000 sq. ft. of space including 100,000 sq. ft. of world-class lab infrastructure.  Extending Intel’s R&D presence in India, it will house technologists who work on cutting-edge engineering across hardware and software.

A smart and green building, SRR4 is the second** building in India to be constructed with the innovative ‘One Storey High Technology,’ with each floor being built on the ground, then lifted and attached to the top of the building. This technology resulted in the reduction of scheduled construction time by up to 60% compared to traditional methods.

The new building is equipped with IoT-based smart features, including smart lights and real-time occupancy management, as well as innovative energy harvesting tiles installed at the entrance of the building that generate and store energy as people walk into the building. In addition, it uses renewable energy sources like solar and fuel cells for power generation, which is expected to meet 40% of the building’s power demand and reduce CO2 emissions by 37%.

The state-of-the-art design facility was inaugurated by Shri Manoj Sinha, Minister of State (IC) for Communications and Minister of State for Railways, Government of India, and Bob Swan, CFO and interim CEO of Intel Corporation in the presence of many other delegates from the government, industry and academia.

Bengaluru, August 07, 2018: PaisaSavvy.com, a Bengaluru-based fintech startup, has launched an innovative way to save and invest money. By offering hassle-free and lucrative investment plans, the platform motivates young professionals to start saving early on in their career.

The idea behind PaisaSavvy is simple, yet innovative and effective. A person’s salary account gets linked to the service. The user spends from his or her account, as per requirement, during the month. When the next salary gets credited, the last month’s surplus automatically gets invested in money market and equity focused funds.

Talking about the innovation, PaisaSavvy founder and CEO Mehul Marakana said, “We are delighted to offer this unique platform to assist millennials to start saving in their early 20s and achieving their financial goals. We intend to take the hassles out of the investment process and that’ll be a big motivation for them.”

“We offer several salient features that make ours an interesting proposition for our young customers. You can park your money for daily use with mutual fund that generates more return than a regular savings or fixed deposit account. Be it Rs 10 or Rs 100, the returns are deposited in your bank account on a daily basis, and not annually. You also get a recognised bank’s debit card which can be used for regular transactions and withdrawals. Moreover, we make the concept of saving money even easier by having your leftover money auto-invested at the end of every month to suitable investment instruments basis your risk appetite. And with all your investments linked with one card, you can encash your money anytime,” he adds.

“We offer a pseudo-savings account to help users save for short-term cash requirements. Also, from this account, we help them build a habit of investing in equity mutual funds for long-term goals,” added Mali Mukesh, co-founder and CTO of PaisaSavvy.

Flexibility in savings, investments and withdrawals makes this an attractive offering for young, first-time investors. The platform will soon announce various other investment tools for its customers.

About PaisaSavvy: PaisaSavvy is a Bengaluru-based fintech startup that has launched an innovative way of saving money. Specially crafted keeping in mind the needs and requirements of young professionals, the platform helps auto-invest the surplus from its user’s salary account into Mutual funds. But the liquidity remains intact. They can withdraw money per their requirement whenever they want to while earning a better rate of interest when the money remains invested. The venture is co-founded by Mehul Marakana an IT post-graduate from DA-IICT and an AMFI Certified Mutual Fund Distributor, and co-founder Mali Mukesh, a computer science graduate.

  • Also introduces virtual assistant EVA on Alexa, Google Home

Bengaluru (Karnataka), April 26th, 2018: HDFC Bank today launched IRA 2.0, its interactive humanoid. In its new avatar, IRA will enhance user experience for customers visiting the Koramangala branch in Bengaluru. IRA will interact with customers, answer bank-related queries, frequently asked questions, and guide them inside the branch with voice-based navigation. HDFC Bank also launched its virtual assistant ‘EVA’ on Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

IRA 2.0 has been developed by HDFC Bank in collaboration with its technology partners Invento Makerspaces and Senseforth Technologies. HDFC Bank became the first bank in the country to introduce a humanoid for customer service. Launched in January 2017 at the Bank’s Kamala Mills Branch in Mumbai, the first version of IRA is currently stationed at the Palarivattom Branch in Kochi.

To offer the simplicity and convenience of a voice conversation to banking transactions, HDFC Bank’s virtual assistant ‘EVA’ has been successfully integrated with Amazon Alexa, making it the first bank to offer voice banking experience on Alexa. Since its launch, EVA, which stands for ‘Electronic Virtual Assistant’ has addressed over 65 lakh queries on voice and chat-based channels with over 85 per cent accuracy. With this integration, HDFC Bank customers can now chat with EVA using voice from the comfort of their homes, without having to pick up a phone, tablet or laptop.

In the first phase, customers can ask EVA on Alexa about bank’s product features, fees and charges, interest rates, credit card reward points / payment date / expiry date, and branches (address, IFSC). Customers can also enquire about how to block / unblock card, what to do if one forgets pin, and updating personal information.

Going forward, EVA on Alexa will support banking transactions and deliver hyper-personalized services using voice. HDFC Bank collaborated with Senseforth and Amazon to build India’s first Banking skill on Alexa.

To give the experience of conversational banking using voice to the masses, EVA has been integrated with Google Assistant, making it available on millions of Android devices, as well as on Google Home. Customers can directly ask their queries to EVA on Google Assistant using voice, instead of manually typing on Google search. Users can just say “Ok Google, talk to HDFC Bank” to their Google Assistant to interact with Eva.

With these technological demonstrators, HDFC Bank aims to deliver a truly omni-channel experience to their customers by placing EVA at every customer touch point like web, mobile, social, and other channels so that customers can use the channel of their choice and will get a consistent experience as they move across channels.

The latest voice integration through the Google Assistant will enable HDFC Bank’s customers to interact with Eva through simple and intuitive voice interactions through their smartphones instead of using a desktop, laptop, application or screens.

“The launch of IRA 2.0 and EVA on Alexa and Google Assistant in Bangalore is a testament of the Bank’s endeavor to move from convenience to giving an experience to our customers using cutting-edge technologies,” said Mr. Nitin Chugh, Country Head – Digital Banking, HDFC Bank. “Today, technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are being deployed across all touch points, including branches. We want to adopt the same technologies and platform that our customers are becoming accustomed to in their daily lives. We foresee a future where these technologies will complement the Bank’s physical network and help our employees add value to our customers.”
