Shri Samir Saraff, Chairman, Standing Committee on Education, MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), informed that MCCI, in association with speakers from IBM India Private Limited, is planning to organise a series of Awareness Programmes on ‘Social Media and its impact on Youngsters’ at several premier schools of the city. It is an endeavour to sensitise the young minds about Social Media and its impact on them. The targeted audience would comprise students of Classes VIII – XII, who are the most vulnerable and susceptible to the potential misuse of social media.
The inaugural Session of this MCCI initiative will be held at The New Town School, Rajarhat on Saturday, 11th July 2015. The speakers wil discuss crucial issues such as how the excessive use of Social Media risks making us narcissistic and potentially lead to problems like the Selfie Syndrome, Cyberbullying, Cyberstalking, etc., as well as the positives of Social Media and how it can be put it to productive use. Shri Saraff expects the programme to be an eye-opener in the field, awakening young minds and stimulating them in the right direction.
It was informed that the Inaugural Session will be followed by several other Sessions at premiere schools of the city in the coming months.
