Shweta KATTI

Having always dreamed of travelling abroad and getting an education.
Ketto, Kunal Kapoor’s online fund raiser, is helping her with her immediate goal of studying psychology, with the plan of helping women who have been traumatized by conditions of sexual abuse.
Shweta Katti, the amazing girl who is embarking upon a journey from Kamathipura to New York, is finally taking her first step and flying off to the USA on 1st August 2013. We at Kranti are extremely grateful for the immense support that everyone gave to Shweta during her previous campaigns.

Shweta’s challenge is not yet over, she needs nearly 80,000$ to pay for her living costs in the US and so far we have managed to raise roughly 25000$, and we need to continue our efforts to overcome this challenge.

To give this cause one last push in Mumbai, we are hosting a farewell dinner with Shweta, a fundraiser to give her one final push, with love from Mumbai to make her dreams come true.

Ketto believes that Shweta’s success will be an inspiration for literally millions of young women.Directly confronting the social stigma associated with India’s exploitative sex-work industry, Shweta is living proof that no person’s worth and potential need be limited by their gender, caste, complexion, parents’ occupation, or where they come from.

KETTO, The NGO Kranti and a group of Shweta’s well wishers are initiating a campaign to raise a support network for her.
KETTO believes the world is her family and she is our daughter who needs help for a better future.

About Ketto:

Ketto is the brain child of the young actor Kunal Kapoor and Varun Sheth who have spent the last 2 years working together to build an online network that will revolutionize the landscape of philanthropy in India. It connects with non profits and companies with the aim of making a difference in the society. It provides the space where you can support the causes that are important to you and connect like minded individuals and organizations working towards positive change.

Ketto is a online fund raising site. This practise is also known as Crowdsourcing often used to subdivide tedious work or to fund-raise startup companies and charities, this process can occur both online and offline. The general concept is to combine the efforts of crowds of volunteers or part-time workers, where each one could contribute a small portion, which adds into a relatively large or significant result. Ketto is different from an ordinary outsourcing since it is a task or problem that is outsourced to an undefined public rather than to a specific, named group

Ketto’s Past Projects :
